Taija PerryCook is a Seattle-based journalist. Her work began in the political sphere as a legislative correspondent for Crosscut, where she traveled across Western Washington to write feature-length stories centering on those most impacted by proposed legislation. Her next reporting venture took her to Amman, Jordan, where she wrote for the Jordan Times on everything from UNICEF hydroponic projects to the local cricket scene. Her other bylines include Real Change News, The Daily UW, and the International Examiner. While a student at the University of Washington studying journalism with minors in human rights and law, societies, and justice, she worked as a barista and will welcome all coffee snob DMs. Passions include her revolutionary literature bookclub, receiving words of affirmation, and hosting cute dinner parties.
