Ok, so many Americans may have trouble pronouncing Italian names (so many vowels!). But a meeting in October 2019 between U.S. President Donald Trump and the president of Italy, Sergio Mattarella, spurred some misinformed criticisms of the president's finesse with Italian history and pronunciations.
