Origin

A photograph that was circulated on Twitter and Reddit in early May 2021 claimed to show the underside of a Snapple lid with a “Real Facts” factoid that allegedly read, “Trump lost and the election was not stolen.”

As some users on Reddit pointed out, it appeared as though the “fact” listed on the lid had been photoshopped, and a look through the online Snapple real facts database did not return any results matching the image above.

The website listed on the lid (Snapple.eu) led our team to AGBarr, the European distributor of the U.S. brand. We contacted Keurig Dr Pepper, the U.S. owner of the Snapple brand, to confirm whether such a lid had ever been in production and was told that the lid was not an official Snapple “Real Fact”. Additionally, a spokesperson for the company said that the originator of this image confirmed on Twitter that it was digitally manipulated. As such, we have updated the original rating of this claim from “Research in Progress” to “False.”
