Today, Facebook removed all pages and groups for the Epoch Times-linked empire known as “The BL,” which stands for “The Beauty of Life.” The BL had 55 million followers and hundreds of pro-Trump pages and groups. It was all largely run from Vietnam.

Snopes.com first reported on The BL’s coordinated inauthentic behavior in October. In a month’s time, writers Alex Kasprak and Jordan Liles investigated The BL’s fake accounts, pages, groups, and employees, finding and establishing clear-cut inauthentic behavior. The pair also created a database of The BL’s entire operation.

Snopes published two more lengthy and detailed investigations in November and December. Since early October, Facebook has not responded to reporters’ repeated questions.

On the Friday before Christmas, Facebook announced it was banning The BL, claiming the social network had been investigating The BL since July, or some five months.
