On Nov. 25, U.S. President Donald Trump signed the Preventing Animal Cruelty and Torture Act (PACT), which places a federal ban on several specific kinds of animal cruelty and torture. The new legislation amends a 2010 law banning videos and photos depicting cruelty toward animals, Snopes.com’s Dan MacGuill reports, with added provisions criminalizing the underlying acts of cruelty themselves.
