A video that aired during ABC News' recent coverage of Turkey's attack on Kurds in northern Syria drew widespread attention and partisan accusations of perpetrating a “hoax.”

ABC said it was an error and apologized for using the video, which actually showed a night-time shooting event at a Kentucky gun range, not a Turkish military attack.

Snopes.com’s Bethania Palma reports that a source at the network said the video was provided by someone who purported to be in a “sensitive position” on the Turkey-Syria border, and the incident is under investigation.
