Damakant Jayshi
Damakant Jayshi worked at Snopes between March 2023 and mid-May 2023. With over a decade in journalism, Jayshi has donned many hats — copy editor, reporter, writer, and fact-checker. Before joining Snopes, he was a general assignments reporter for Wausau Pilot & Review, a digital newspaper in Wisconsin. He has covered politics, parliament, international affairs, violent conflict, refugees, and health, among other topics. He is the founder of South Asia Check, Nepal’s first fact-checking website, that, in addition to fact-checking claims, critiqued news media’s prolific use of anonymous sources. Damakant is a 2007 Nieman Fellow.
