Aphrodisiacs

Aphrodisiacs figure prominently in folklore. They are both magic potions the lovelorn employ to obtain the objects of their unrequited passions, and powerful drugs used by the unscrupulous to seduce unwilling partners. Though we'd like to be in such a position of power ourselves, we're all too aware that such magic substances — if they existed — could equally be used against us. Consequently, rumors and legends about the existence and effects (often unintended or dangerous ones) of aphrodisiacs are plentiful. Below are but a few examples.
