I wasn't around when cross made his initial appearance at snopes, so I don't really know. I kind of doubt it, though.
The guy who was spamming me got my e-mail address from a physics-related newsgroup, I think. He was obsessed with pseudo-physics-related topics. I just looked for his e-mails, but I must have deleted them.
