Drazz--I started collecting out of change in 1958. Filled up some easy books of cents and nickels. Got back into it in late 60's when silver was all but extinct in change. Started collecting Russian coins(old ones) when I found it to be cheaper than U.S. Went on to become rather an expert in Russian coins in the 70's and 80's. Now work in the largest coin store in Ohio.
Miss the old days when you COULD find neat stuff in change.
The hobby changed a lot in the 80's when baseball cards became popular. It helped to kill the stamp collecting and coin collecting market. No new kids coming into the hobby. And the electronic gaming industry has continued this trend.
