Sorry i'm so late about congratulating you, but CONGRATS! I know how nice it is to see something of yours in print.

Sadly, i'm a bit of a writer... the first thing i ever had printed was a letter to a video game magazine... it was a very funny game idea submission, and i was astounded that it won game idea of the month. Sadly, that magazine is no longer with us, but i'll never forget seeing my name in print for the first time.

I also had a letter printed about a year ago in EGM. I got shitloads of e-mail in response to that one. Some of it was encouraging towards girl gamers, but a lot of it was blasting me for referring to nintendo games as 'cartoony bullshit,' and a few neanderthals told me to "get back in the kitchen, bitch."

I did a brief stint writing for the Gateway, which is the UNO campus newspaper. I had a few things printed, but they were such assholes i essentially quit (technically, i'm still a contributer) after a short period of time. They would mutilate the hell out of my writing... and their added typos made me look like an idiot. It was a bad experience, but i'd like to think i made a few people smile.

I do bit pieces of writing when called upon, but nothing too serious. A few of my high school teachers tried to get me to go into journalism, but i just can't stand the thought of *having* to write... i can write some good stuff when i'm inspired, but *having* to write about something mundane doesn't appeal to me. So, i just stick to impressing my english teachers. I do have to take speech this semester though, so i guess i'll have to see how that turns out.

But Jenn, congrats again, and here's to many more! I just love to see debunkings get published!
