Well, I'm not sure if this counts, but I found a website dedicated to an 80's children's show, read the summaries of the episodes, and submitted a fanfic. The webmaster loved it (he couldn't believe I'd never seen an episode of the show), posted it, and sent it to the former cast. One of the puppeteers behind a main character sent a response saying she loved it and had sent it on to the powers that be at the studio where the show had been made. (Ask if you want details. I'll post them if I get five requests, otherwise send me an email and I'll reply with them.) What happens next? Who knows?
