  Former Professor Arrested in Scam   (The [Trenton] Times)
  • A former professor, convicted of using colleagues' names to obtain credit cards and spending freely on them while at a California university in the 1990s, has surfaced at Princeton University and has again been charged with credit card fraud.


  •   Spring Brings Scam Artists   (Hannibal Courier-Post)
  • Flowers and mushrooms pop up this time of year, but they are not the only things that appear in the spring, according to local law enforcement authorities. Spring is also prime time for scam artists, who unexpectedly appear at the door to practice their skill in "conning" the public.

  • Officials at the Better Business Bureau in Louisville says they have seen lottery scams before, but never one as convincing as the latest scam to hit town. Victims think they've hit it big when they're sent a check that's not worth the paper it's printed on.


  •   Soap Opera Fans Find Themselves Victim of a Scam   (The [Portland] Oregonian)
  • It was supposed to be an evening with soap opera stars like Susan Lucci. Instead, it turned out to be a scam.


  •   Another Scam on the Loose   (Ironwood Daily Globe)
  • A Germania Street resident is the target of the latest mail scam attempt that has prompted Iron County Sheriff Robert Bruneau to issue a warning.


  •   Scam May Have Victimized Two Pacers Players   (TheIndyChannel.com)
  • Two Indiana Pacers players and Pacers officials were questioned by the Indianapolis Police Department for nearly three hours after learning the players may have been victimized by an ongoing fraud and theft scheme.


  •   Online Scam Prompts Security Review   (New Zealand News)
  • Security is under review following a scam in which international fraudsters got away with $100,000 from unsuspecting online banking customers.


  •   Wheels of Fortune   (ABCNEWS.com)
  • A Senate panel begins hearings into Medicare's expenditure of hundreds of millions of dollars on electric-powered wheelchairs that never existed.
