Not a Hoax: Actor Christopher Lee Dead at 93

Christopher Lee, the actor who played some of cinema's biggest villains in the Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and James Bond film series in a career that spanned more than 65 years, has passed away at the age of 93.

Many Internet users searching for confirmation of Lee's death were confused when they stumbled across an article from the nefarious web site Media Mass, which has has long hosted an article stating that actor Christopher Lee had not died and had instead been the target of an Internet death hoax:

News of actor Christopher Lee’s death spread quickly earlier this week, causing concern among fans across the world. However, the June 2015 report has now been confirmed as a complete hoax, the actor best known for his roles in The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings or Count Dracula is alive and well.

Although Media Mass has since updated their article to state that Christopher Lee's death was not a hoax, many people were still confused about the news:

Reports of Lee's death are not a hoax. Christopher Lee indeed passed away on 7 June 2015 at a hospital in London.

Sir Roger Moore, who starred alongside Lee in the James Bond classic The Man with the Golden Gun posted this tribute to Lee on Twitter:
